Haters, Jealousy and Dealing With Outside Negativity

January 30th, 2008

Recently I have had some comments on this blog that have been negative in nature that I was forced to remove from the site. When I started this blog, it was intended as an open forum and I had no intention of censoring any input and limiting discussion in any way. For the sake of my ever growing readership however, I am obligated to moderate each comment and eliminate the childish and profanity ridden drivel that has been posted recently.

Why Are YOU Thinking About Writing a Blog?

January 20th, 2008

As I’ve found out, writing for a blog can be pretty time intensive to do correctly. I currently have 3 blogs that I am writing - each are different and each have a specific goal.

The first of these is this blog, The Flip Flop Lifestyle Blog or as I’ve come to call it, The Freedom Blog. As I’ve mentioned before, this blog is not directly for the purpose of making money. It may pay dividends in the future, given a large enough reader base. So the question is: Why am I spending time writing here when I could be spending time on something that pays off quicker and bigger?

Writing My First E-Book - Part 1

January 14th, 2008

I have been doing a ton of reading lately - probably too much. Looking back over the Success or Failure post from a couple of days ago, I decided I needed to put one more project on my plate and write an e-book. Time is precious these days - selling real estate is my primary source of income and between taking care of my own clients and helping manage the team, it can take up quite a bit of time each day. Maintaining that is critical and most of the “lifestyle design” projects that I am working on get pushed in to my personal time - nights and weekends - hence this post getting written around 1:00 am when I have to get up at 5:30 am.

A Beginner’s Guide to Starting a Blog and Getting Traffic

January 9th, 2008

First off - as I am writing this, I am pretty much a newcomer to the wacky world of blogging. It’s been a fun learning experience so far and I know I really haven’t scratched the surface. My first goal was to learn some of the technical stuff - since I have a Wordpress blog I needed to learn the ins and outs of the control panel, etc. Standard stuff.

Once the blog was up it was simply a matter of writing posts. I really never have a shortage of things to say, so that’s the easy part.

Success or Failure?

January 8th, 2008

Read carefully - I am going to give you the secret to getting started and succeeding in any sort of venture to create passive income, whether it is an internet business that you want to start or any other type of passive income vehicle. Make sure you are ready because it may come as a bit of a surprise… ACTION. That’s it. Do something. Anything.

Anything besides checking out another website or downloading another e-book with the latest internet income secret. Chances are very good that you are like me and have read a ton of books, visited hundreds of websites and blogs, and bought several (if not more…) courses on how to build passive income and make money while you sleep.

“The Four Hour Workweek” Review

January 1st, 2008

I finished the book and in a nutshell, this is my opinion: AWESOME. It really appeals to me on several levels, I guess. It is directly in tune with what I am trying to accomplish - weirdly so. This is a strong case for the power of the Law of Attraction at work. The freedom and lifestyle that Tim Ferriss is an advocate of and has achieved closely parallels the ideas that have been the subject of my intense focus.

My Favorite Mannequin…

December 31st, 2007

This is another great pic that I came across from Labor Day weekend, 2007 the day after I won my last Muay Thai kick boxing fight in Carlsbad. Not a mark or bruise to be found!
